Class 15 Teenage Suicide

Let’s talk about Teenage suicide

Nowadays, many teenagers think about suicide.
We have to talk about their feeling and mind. They decide to suicide because they think nobody is talking and understanding about them, so they think about suicide.
Talking is very important, because one sentence makes them hopeful, so suicide rate can be decreased when we talk with them.
If you have any trouble, then you want to talk with other person. But some people couldn’t. That’s the reason why they choose suicide.
Sometime adults ignore to other teenager’s opinion, so teenager’s confidence get more decrease.
Finally just remember one thing, ‘talk each other then you’re life will be happy’.

Here is a play from our performance group to be performed at the final expo:

Are You a Flower? Can You Blossom to Someone Else's Need?
Part I
#1 Rooftop (Video or Picture)
(The wind blew and the dandelion seeds to dust off on the roof of one who came down gently to)
Dandelion (Narrator): I was a wandering baby dandelion seed. Airborne upon the wind straight after birth, I parted with my siblings to embark upon a journey of my own making; a journey which, when successful, would lead to the grandest and noblest of all hopes and causes: it would lead to life. But to yield life I first had to attain my own. Being but a lone seed misplaced on a pile of dust, life proved very hard a thing to cling upon. And yet, while loneliness frightened me, the prospect of living gave me strength. I clung on, and soon enough, I heard a voice reach out to me.
#2 School
Three students bully a middle school boy.
#3 Home (무대)
Middle School boy wanders around in room.
#4 Home (무대)
Middle School Student : mom, dad, please listen to me
Mom 1 : sorry, I'm busy now, let's talk about it later.
Dad 1 : Honey, let's go now. (To son) We will be back by midnight.
#5 Rooftop
Middle School Student: I don't know where I'm headed towards in life. I am cold, I am afraid, and the worst thing is, I have no shoulder to cry on.
Dandelion Seed: So am I, but we have each other! Thank God we ran into one another.
Dandelion (Narrator): Obviously, my words were in vain and the poor boy could not hear me. But I would continue to meet him, at midnight, every midnight, for another four days.
(Four days later)
Dandelion Seed: (Excited) There you are! I was wondering why you wouldn't show up, you're late today.
Middle School Student: (Depressed) Nobody listens to me. Am I the problem? Am I supposed to disappear?
Dandelion Seed: No, you have me! I can listen to you, I can be your friend!
(Middle School Boy places will and shoes on rooftop, commits suicide)
Dandelion Seed: (Devastated) No~!

Part II.
#6 Narration
Dandelion (Narrator): The shock of seeing my friend plunge himself into the middle of the night was unbearable. If only I could have done something to prevent his death... I thought I was doomed to be alone all over again, and cursed destiny for the cold fate it had sentenced upon me. The thing I didn't notice was, I was steadily reaching out towards daylight.

(Dandelion seed grows into danedlion bud)

#7 Narration
Grown Woman (Narrator): When I was in fifth grade, everything in life suddenly seemed to fall apart. I wanted to topple down and cry, but not a singel tear would be shed. A sort of inexplicable alienation started to envelop me, and I felt that nobody, not even my parents, would be able to console me. For no apparent reason, and as if by bare instinct, I walked towards the rooftop and looked down upon the city.

#8. Rooftop
(Elementary School Kid opens rooftop door and steps onto stage)

Dandelion (Narrator): Then came the other child. She bore an uncanny resemblance to the boy I had tried to save some weeks before. Physically she looked nothing like him, but there was an air of sorrow and solitude that was somewhat similar. Almost instantly, I knew what I was about to see and hear.

Elementary School Kid: I am lonely, and I don't think I will feel joyful ever again. Can someone help me?

Dandelion (Bud): (Shouting Frantically) I can help you! I'm there for you! I always will be!

Dandelion (Narrator): As usual, the girl could not hear me.

(Elementary School Kid cries, and teardrops fall on the dandelion bud. Overnight, the bud blossoms petals)

#9 Rooftop
(Elementary School Kid comes back a few days later, determined to jump off. Moves towards edge)
Dandelion (Full grown flower): No~! No~!

(Elementary School Kid stops. She notices a dandelion flower she had previously passed unnoticed. After standing still for a moment, elementary school kid goes back to her house and hugs her parents)

Grown Woman (Narrator): For all the time I thought nobody had been listening to me, I realized that I was not alone. A single dandelion was there for me, and had listened to all that I had been saying. The revelation suddenly gave me strength, and I knew that I had to live. There was something about that dandelion, about its strenth and its dedication towards preserving life, that resonated within my heart profoundly.

Stage Closes. Everything is dark except for a picture of a flower garden.

Dandelion (Narrator): Are You a Flower? Can You Blossom to Someone Else's Need?

All: Everbody's a flower. Make sure you blossom to be there for your special someone.

END
